Grover, Cookie Monster, Elmo and Telly put their spin on a rap classic in the latest YouTube creation from Mylo the Cat aka Adam Schleichkorn. The monsters of Sesame Street deliver an impassioned lip-synch performance of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's classic hit "Tha Crossroads."

The song was the biggest hit for Bone Thugs; peaking at No. 2 on the charts in 1996. It was released as a single 20 years ago this April and won the Cleveland quintet a Grammy in 1997. "Tha Crossroads" is one of the definitive songs of the 1990s. And the group enjoyed one of the most successful commercial runs in hip-hop.

In the clip, each of the beloved muppet monsters assumes the lyrical role of a Bone Thugs member: Grover as Bizzy Bone, Elmo as Layzie Bone, Cookie Monster as Krayzie Bone, and Telly as Wish Bone.

Apparently a lot of the homies didn't make it off those Sesame Streets. We were always led to believe that this was "where the air is sweet," but Cookie says they're "passin'-passin' away."

And Telly really misses his Uncle Charles. But it's the shot of Grover in the rain that kills it, though. Hilarious.

This particular spoof hit the Web at a bittersweet time for fans of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, as Krayzie Bone announced that he is canceling his Canadian tour as he’s suffering from an “intense case of pneumonia” brought on by his sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease.

But the vid will give you a chuckle, guaranteed. Always good to see the Muppets get gangsta wit it. Anyone who's ever watched the classic Bert and Ernie take on "Ante Up" can attest to that; and the Muppets tackled a Beastie Boys classic a few years back. And who could forget Gonzo's "Humpty Dance" performance from last year?
