A DVR is a Sports Fan’s Best Friend

Here's a scenario many hockey fans in the Tri-States will face TONIGHT: the Dubuque Fighting Saints play Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. Muskegon at 7:05 p.m. At that very same time, the Chicago Blackhawks will take the ice to face the Minnesota Wild in the NHL's Western Conference semifinals.

What to do?! A DVR makes this a relatively easy situation to handle: record the Blackhawks at Wild game, shut your phone off to avoid updates on that game and go support the Fighting Saints at the Mystique Community Ice Center.

I'll be using my DVR again tonight to record the game as I'll be at Carlos O'Kelly's giving away Corona, chips and queso for a year as part of our Cinco de Mayo party! There will be live music and food/drink specials. Giveaway starts at 7:30 p.m.

Yes, we'll be giving away an amazing prize at Carlos O'Kelly's at the very moment the Fighting Saints are fighting (no pun intended) for their Clark Cup lives. Now, if only we could DVR life.
